What STORY is your brand TELLING on social media?

Maybe your brand is telling a story through social media, but maybe not. Let's think about that for a minute. If your answer is yes, is it the right one? To better answer that question, we have provided hyperlinks to useful articles throughout this blog.

There are stories happening all around us, and that includes people, pieces of art, historic buildings, recipes, and many others. All of them have a past, present and future. It’s all part of their story. This also happens with a brand.

The storytelling of a brand must represent its pillars, guidelines, and marketing strategies. From specific hashtags to a brand’s personality, voice and tone! The goal should always be to look at a post, read the caption, and instantly think of the brand that’s being presented. Fans shouldn’t even need to look at the page’s name or the logo.

A copy should never be generic. Would you fall in love with a person with no personality? Doubt it! The same goes with a brand. It’s recommended to avoid copies/captions that you can just switch the name of the brand and/or logo, and it completely works for another one. A copy that equally works for a wine brand and for a medical insurance company? Can you imagine? OMG!

Another thing to keep in mind is the impact that emojis have on your story. They can make it come alive and give a fun twist to your brand. Add them to your captions, but don’t overdo it!

Each brand has a personality. And just like us humans, it can be sexy, fun, approachable, and the list goes on and on. It’s important to always show it through your content. Just like when you go on a date and a friend tells you to be yourself and show your personality. Get them to know you!

Remember, each story should be presented differently on Facebook and Instagram. That’s the beauty of each platform, just like Twitter, YouTube and others. What works for one of them, not always works for the other. Each one offers you different ways to get your story across to your followers.

Sometimes, the importance of storytelling gets overlooked, but your brand needs it.
Trust me! The story continues to be written… Until next time!
